Engine Course Curriculum - D301
D301
Advanced Aftertreatment and SCR Diagnostics
Advanced students learn to solve repeat, intermittent and multi code aftertreatment failures. The course emphasizes graphing and correlating data, sensor rationality, conversion efficiency, complex electrical testing and engine related causes of aftertreatment damage.
What Students Will Be Able to Do
- Graph and compare pressure, temperature, dosing and NOx data.
- Evaluate sensor rationality and expected system response.
- Diagnose intermittent wiring, power, ground and network faults.
- Assess SCR dosing performance and conversion efficiency.
- Distinguish DPF restriction, ash, face plugging and thermal damage.
- Identify engine, fuel, air, oil or coolant causes of repeated failures.
- Create and verify a root cause repair plan for a complex case.
