Engine Course Curriculum - E201

E201

Diesel Engine Diagnostics and Repair

Students develop a repeatable diagnostic process for common electronic, fuel, air, cooling and mechanical engine faults. The course emphasizes complaint verification, scan data, electrical testing, mechanical testing, repair planning and post repair verification.

What Students Will Be Able to Do
  • Follow a structured diagnostic workflow from complaint to verification.
  • Read engine fault codes, live data and freeze frame information.
  • Test basic sensor, actuator, power, ground and signal circuits.
  • Inspect and test low and high pressure fuel system operation.
  • Diagnose air restriction, boost leak and turbocharger concerns.
  • Assess cooling system, compression and crankcase pressure symptoms.
  • Document findings and verify repairs using OEM specifications.
