Engine Course Curriculum - E301

E301

Advanced Diesel Engine Diagnostics and Overhaul

This advanced course combines complex electronic diagnosis with engine failure analysis, precision measurement, overhaul procedures and commissioning. Students work from evidence and OEM specifications to identify root causes and plan durable repairs.

What Students Will Be Able to Do
  • Diagnose intermittent, multiple code and communication related engine faults.
  • Interpret advanced electrical and performance test results.
  • Identify root causes of piston, liner, bearing, cylinder head and valve train damage.
  • Measure reusable engine components and compare findings with OEM limits.
  • Plan and carry out controlled disassembly and reassembly procedures.
  • Apply correct cleanliness, lubrication, torque and sealing practices.
  • Commission an overhauled engine and complete quality control documentation.
